Why ECO?

‘Eco’, an abbreviation from the word ‘ECOLOGY’ has its root in the Greek word ‘Aikos’. ‘Aikos’ simply means ‘God’s great household’. It is the Greek philosophy and belief that all that we see, whether our fellow human beings, animals, plants, seas, mountains, birds, fishes and the earth itself, belongs to One Great Household of God. In this sense, we owe to one another ‘positively a duty of care, not just a duty not to harm’.
 

At heart, all of us are ecologically oriented. That’s why there is a deep reaction within us when we see forests being burned, industrial waste being poured into a clean river or helpless sea birds being covered with oil slick That’s the same reason why we called ourselves ‘Ecotint’.

This philosophy and belief of owing one another ‘positively a duty of care, not just a duty not to harm’ underlies all that we do at and through Ecotint.
